iPhone has a special feature that ends a call with a simple press of the power/lock button. This happens for both incoming calls and outgoing calls. Some users find this useful, but it can also be annoying, especially on important calls. You may unintentionally hang up while trying to lock your iPhone.
If you’re having trouble with this feature, you can disable the Power Button End Call feature in iOS 16. Read on to find out how.
How to disable the power button to end a call on iPhone in iOS 16
- Launch “Settings” on your iPhone.
- Go to Availability.
- Click “Touch”.
- Scroll down and turn on “Prevent Block” to end the call.
No more questions: “Why does my phone freeze when I lock it?” It may appear that the call on your iPhone has failed. But it’s not! iPhone allows you to end any call using the side button. You can disable this action with the new Prevent blocking to end a call feature as shown above. So stop worrying about randomly ending calls when your phone is locked.
Now you no longer need to worry about accidentally pressing the power button during a call. And you can lock your iPhone without dropping the call. Also, turn off the “Accessibility” option if you want to use this feature in the future. Also, note that if Block to end a call disabled, double-clicking the side button will not reject an incoming call.
